Product Overview

When installed, Orb Ceiling Tiles create a cool, repeating pattern of interlocking circles. Made from our Feather-Light Series 0.013 in. thick vinyl plastic, they are unlike any ceiling tile you will ever see or feel. You may be surprised by their minimal weight, but their thermoformed design combined with the inherent strength of vinyl makes these tiles rigid, durable, and easy to install and maintain.

All of our Feather-Light Series tiles are Class A fire rated, 100% recyclable, completely waterproof, Greenguard Gold Certified for indoor air quality, and made in the USA. For the look of plaster or tin, with the flexibility, durability, and versatility of vinyl - look no further!

  • Installation Type: Standard 15/16-1 in. grid
  • Suitable for Borders: Yes, this style may be trimmed for use along borders
  • Dimensions: 2 ft. x 2 ft. (nominal)
  • Features: Recess 0.35 in. from tile face

How many titles come in a box

Asked by: Gregx
All Ceilume ceiling tiles are custom manufactured when you place your order. The minimum order size is 25 tiles, but you can order in any quantity of 25 or more. Do you only need 47 tiles for an upcoming project? Then that's all you need to order. Give us a call at 800-557-0654 with any questions or to request a free sample. We're here Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 4:30 pm PST.

Are the samples sent the actual tile?

Asked by: Orb
Because Ceilume ceiling tiles are vastly different from the old, dusty mineral fiber ceiling tiles, we send full-sized samples of the actual product we sell. We want you to be able to put them in your ceiling grid so you can see exactly how they'll look and perform in your space. The thin rigid vinyl tiles are impervious to moisture so they won't absorb moisture and sag like the old-school tiles. They're easy to clean and durable enough to be removed and replaced without damage. Feel free to give us a call at 800-557-0654 if you have any specific questions about Ceilume ceiling tiles.

I am using the ceiling max grid system and want to use these tiles. I also am using thin profile led potlights that just clip in. Are there any issues I should consider?

Asked by: Denise
The International Building Code requires all lights to be supported by the ceiling grid or the structure above. The ceiling tiles should not be used to support any lights. There are several companies that make a light bracket that will satisfy the building code and works with 4" LED "puck lights". Halo's model number is HL4NCMF is one such light bracket.

Can these tiles be applied to cover popcorn ceiling?

Asked by: Juice
The Orb ceiling tile can only be installed in a standard ceiling grid. While Ceilume does make ceiling tiles that are designed to be glued to a ceiling, we do not recommend gluing any of our tiles directly to a popcorn finish. The old popcorn finish must be removed prior to installation of any Ceilume ceiling tiles. You can view our glue up tiles here: https://www.ceilume.com/products/glue-up/white-ceiling-tiles/

Can these be used alone or do they need something behind them. Also can a recessed can light be installed with them.

Asked by: Beth
The Orb is made from Ceilume's Feather-Light vinyl which is only .013" thick and they're made to be installed by themselves or with Ceilume's Soniguard Drop Ceiling Insulation for additional acoustic and thermal insulation. They get their stiffness from the shape we've molded into the tile and since they don't absorb moisture or humidity, they won't sag over time or lose their shape. Per the International Building Code, light fixtures must be supported by the ceiling grid or the structure above. If you're planning to install can lights in your ceiling, make sure that you purchase can lights with a bracket that will carry the weight of the light on the grid itself.
