Product Overview
Stratford Ceiling Panels are cost-effective, easy-to-use, and our best-selling style. Made from our Feather-Light Series 0.013 in. thick vinyl plastic, they are unlike any ceiling panels you will ever see or feel. You may be surprised by their minimal weight, but their thermoformed design combined with the inherent strength of vinyl makes these tiles rigid, durable, and easy to install and maintain.
The “lume” in Ceilume stands for ILLUMINATION, and with our Transluminous™ Ceiling Tiles we give you three unique ways to let the light shine in, whether you want localized lighting effects or a fully illuminated ceiling. Our translucent white material adds a soft, diffused lighting effect, and hides most of what lays above the ceiling. Place tiles directly beneath lighting fixtures in traditional interiors, or throughout the entirety of your installation for a fully-illuminated ceiling effect.
All of our Feather-Light Series panels are Class A fire rated, 100% recyclable, completely waterproof, Greenguard Gold Certified for indoor air quality, and made in the USA. For the look of plaster or tin, with the flexibility, durability, and versatility of vinyl - look no further!

Can I request a Stone and Black Stratford Ceiling Panel 24x48? and how long would it take to come in? I am hoping to make a decision asap and get my basement ceiling done by Christmas

Ceilume makes all orders in the order they were received. Manufacturing takes no more than 5 business days to complete. Shipping is done via FedEx Ground or Common Freight carrier. We're shipping from California so shipping transit time can take anywhere from 2-6 business days depending on where you live in the US.

if we use this tile with sound guard instead is it better we are planning to lay on top of the grid tiles 1lb Vinyl and rockwool insulation to stop sound to go to the above floor witch has already 2 layers of dry wall with green compound glue in between
Ceilume only recommends using Soniguard Drop Ceiling Insulation for additional acoustic or thermal insulation for the Stratford (and all other Feather-Light) ceiling tiles. Heavier insulations can cause the tiles to bow downward or deform.

What type of lighting fixture do I have to use?
Ceilume's Stratford ceiling tiles work well with any standard recessed can light or pendant light. The International Building Code requires that all lights, HVAC grilles, speakers, fire/smoke alarms, etc must be supported by the ceiling grid or the structure above - the Ceiling tiles should not be used to support any of those items. Home Depot has a wide range of light support brackets to make your project simple and safe. If you're planning to install LED "puck lights", please contact Ceilume at 800-557-0654 to discuss the additional step required for these lights. Is this the best looking border to use with the Aristocrat tiles
As they say, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". There are only 3 Feather-Light border tiles available in the 2x4 size: Stratford, Southland, and Polyline. Stratford works great with the Aristocrat but it does give the appearance of 2 separate 2x2 tiles. We're fans of the Southland tile as a border to the Aristocrat; the linear pattern of the Southland is a nice contrast to the concentric rectangles of the Aristocrat.

Hello, We have many irregular spaces in our ceiling grid. Would you recommend pairing the Stratford with the Serenity for borders or cutting the Stratford to fit the irregular spaces? We are worried that the interrupted pattern will not look right.
The Stratford ceiling tile is Ceilume's best selling ceiling tiles in large part because it works so well as a border tile (see photo below). What's the maximum ceiling temperature recommended when installing your ceiling tiles?
The listings for all Ceilume ceiling tiles carry this warning: "Not recommended for installation where ceiling temperatures exceed 120°F" As a general rule, Ceilume Ceiling Tiles and Panels will not be affected by ceiling level temperatures up to 120 F. For some installations involving halogen lights, metal heat registers, and radiant heat sources (wood stoves, kitchen ovens, etc.), localized ceiling and ceiling tile temperatures can be much higher than anticipated; please contact the Ceilume at 800-557-0654 for specific advice if your installation has any of these special conditions

Can a 12" or 16" round surface-mount LED light fixture be used with the Stratford tile assuming the electrical box is mounted firmly to the suspended ceiling grid or wooden joists? Would the heat from the light fixture harm the tile or pose a fire hazard?
The International Building Code requires that all lights, speakers, HVAC grilles, etc must be supported by the ceiling grid or the structure above. There are a variety of LED light brackets available to support your light fixtures. A few notes about using the LED light fixtures with the Stratford:
1) The interior dimensions of the Stratford's "square within a square" pattern are about 13-1/2" x 13-1/2" so you'd probably want to go with the 12" LED light.
2) Because the "square within a square" pattern recessess upward 1/2", there is an extra step needed for proper installation. Please contact Ceilume at 800-557-0654 to discuss your installation.

These tiles are thin, like thin thin but are not supposed to sag. They look good and cut easily with just a scissors. My only complaint there were a few that were cracked. I would recommend. We put these in our VFW building

great product!
really great product! ordered the free sample and it arrived quickly. I was amazed! the tiles are thin, but flexible, making install pretty easy. we painted an existing grid after having the white "color- matched" at our favorite paint store. laid in the new tiles, and the new ceiling was pretty spectacular. the cost is quite reasonable, the installation pretty easy, and the effect when done really spectacular. highly recommend his prouduct!

What a huge difference!!
These panels were so easy to install and look amazing! They cut easily with scissors and look so professional. We did need to wash and paint the grids - had no clue how grungy they had looked! I had many installed before my husband walked in the door and he was so surprised it was that simple. Excellent product we would highly recommend.

STRAFFORD SAVES THE DAY!
I have a historic mid-century modern office building. It was built when drop ceilings were very new and the drop ceiling was placed only 1.5 inches below the rafters. So changing or removing or accessing the ceiling above the drop ceiling is nearly impossible. But Strafford tiles has saved the day, along with being moderate and beautiful! My staff (an up-scale Medical Spa) and clients love them! Great product!
