Rated 5 out of 5 by from Your product is FANTASTIC! My husband and I are rehabbing a 1967 mobile home in Briny Breezes, FL. We ordered the product and had it delivered overnight. We installed it the next morning. EASY PEASY!!! If we can do this ANYONE can. The ceilings look unbelievable!! Our neighbors are floored at how beautiful our ceilings are. I am so thrilled with this, that as soon as we finish with the living room and kitchen remodel, I am going to order more for the the two bedrooms. Thanks for such fast service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank you for the follow up - we love our ceilume ceiling tiles that we installed in our finished basement - very easy and took very little time. I would rate the entire process from customer service, (Dave sending me installation photos of the border tiles I was interested in installed in his office sold me) receiving of samples and photos provided to delivery and installation a 5!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love our new ceiling. We would give the ceiling tiles a 5 for ease of use and appearance. I also talked to a few people at the company and all of them were very helpful. Our installer made one suggestion that I have already passed on. It is important to press the middle of the ceiling tile first and then the outside so you don't trap any unwanted air in the middle of the tile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use. Look great. I had never used tiles like this before. They are lightweight and easy to cut. They look great. I have received many compliments. These particular tiles that can be placed over existing suspended ceiling tiles allowed me to keep the existing recessed lights.

Can this be install over texture tiles?

Asked by: Gerald
If you would like to leave your old ceiling tiles in place for additional thermal and sound insulation, you can slide the Cambridge tile beneath your existing tile. If you have textured tiles that are glued to an existing ceiling, those tiles and all adhesive would have to be removed prior to gluing the Cambridge to your ceiling.

Can these ceiling tiles be adhered over old wallpaper? Underneath the wallpaper is paperboard. (Yes, a really old house!)

Asked by: Nanny
The secret to a successful glue-up installation is having a solid and smooth substrate on which to glue the new tiles. Most times this means that the existing drywall or plaster ceiling is sound, has no cracks or water damage, and is smooth and flat. In your home, you'll need to make sure that the wallpaper is still firmly attached to the paperboard beneath. If you can easily peel the wall paper away, then the tiles will not adhere for long. But if the wallpaper is still stuck tight to the ceiling, you should be in good shape.

Can I glue them on popcorn ceiling?

Asked by: Violeta
Due to the uneven nature of a textured ceiling, Ceilume ceiling tiles cannot be installed directly to "popcorn” ceiling surfaces. It is recommended that the rough finish of the ceiling be removed, leaving the existing drywall exposed before installing Ceilume glue-up tiles.

Can Cambridge tiles be cut at borders or is there a special border tile that needs to be ordered with it? For example, I'm looking at a 5' wide corridor, which will require 3 rows of tiles. I'm guessing only the center row can sit down below the grid?

Asked by: Buck
Since the Cambridge white ceiling tile is a solid white on both front and back, you can cut the tile down and install it as a partial tile at the border areas. The trick is, you'll need to flip the tile over so the "square within a square" pattern of the tile projects upwards from the grid. For an area that is only 5' wide, you may want to consider the Oxford tile (https://www.ceilume.com/tiles/Oxford/White/) The Oxford's upward projecting design will keep a uniform design across a relatively narrow ceiling.

If I need 32 tiles am I required to buy 2 box of 25 each

Asked by: Joe Gaydos
In order to ensure that you get the best price possible and to allow us to provide those of you in the lower 48 states with free shipping, we ask that your total ceiling tile order consist of at least 25 items before you check out. But we don't sell in increments of 25 tiles, so if you only need 32 tiles then that is all you'll need to purchase!

Can these tiles be glued to furring strips, or do they need to be glued to an existing ceiling?

Asked by: erin
While we've seen folks install Ceilume Glue-Up Tiles on furring strips, it is definitely a tricky installation method. Here are a few things you'd need to watch out for: - The substrate you're installing the furring strips on must be sound and level - Furring strips would need to be perfectly laid out in a 2x2 grid pattern. - In addition to the 2x2 grid pattern, you'll need 1 strip in the center of the 2x2 square to provide an additional contact point for adhering the center portion of the tile. It is much better to glue the tiles to a smooth, flat substrate such as drywall, OSB, or plywood. If you haven't done so already, we'd welcome you to call us at 800-557-0654 to request a few samples so you can see the tiles in person and figure out an installation method that works best for you.

Can the glue-up tiles be installed on a bathroom ceiling? Specifically, can they be installed over the tub/shower area?

Asked by: Sarah
Ceilume Ceiling Tiles are made from a rigid vinyl and are impervious to moisture. If your bathroom ceiling is high enough that it doesn't get lots of spray from the shower and the existing ceiling is sound (no chipping, cracks, or soft spots) then you can glue Ceilume tiles to a bathroom ceiling. Please make sure to follow the installation instructions carefully, including the requirement to clean the new ceiling tiles prior to installing the self-adhesive Decorative Strips needed for covering the joints in a Butt-Joint installation. This will allow for proper adhesion of the strips which will prevent moisture from getting into the joints.
