While our Feather-Light designs are made exclusively for grid mount applications, our Signature Ceiling Tiles can be
nailed, stapled, screwed or glued directly to you ceiling.

How do I install your ceiling tiles?
Our grid mount ceiling tiles can be installed into standard 1" t-bar drop ceiling systems and
Ceiling Link brand direct mount grid systems
without special tools of any kind. Our direct mount tiles can be nailed, stapled, screwed or glued into place. Please see the
installation guides for more information.

What do I do about edge trim?
In situations where installed ceiling tiles need to be less than full size (either grid squares are less than full size, or
the space between installed direct mount tiles and walls are less than full size), simply choose a complimentary
edge trim design and trim to fit with
scissors.

Can I use recessed (can) lighting with Ceilume's grid mount ceiling tiles?
Absolutely! Just install the lighting per the manufacturer's instructions, making sure that the fixture is supported by the
t-bar grid itself, or by the framing structure above it. Also be sure to select a style that has sufficient flat area in the
middle to accommodate the light opening and trim ring.

Can I paint Ceilume Smart Ceiling Tiles?
All Ceilume products can be painted before or after installation. Make sure that your ceiling tiles and decorative strips are
clean and dry, and experiment on a sample with your paint of choice before painting the ceiling in its entirety. Do not use
solvent type thinner or cleaners. Painting voids the Class A Fire Rating.

Do I have to use AcoustoTherm Backpanels with your grid mount ceiling tiles?
Absolutely not. Gird mount ceiling tiles and panels will work wonderfully whether or not they are used in conjunction with
our AcoustoTherm Backpanels. Backpanels are just a way to enhance the performance of your
ceiling tiles.

Why do I want to use AcoustoTherm Backpanels with grid mount ceiling tiles?
Backpanels nest above your ceiling tiles, creating an insulating, sound dampening pocket of still air that is only available
with the Ceilume Smart Ceiling Tile system. When used under lighting fixtures in combination with our translucent face ceiling
tiles, these clear backpanels provide better light diffusion, hide dust and insect accumulation and enhance the thermal and
acoustical properties of your 1" t-bar ceiling.

Do I need ceiling tile hold down clips for the grid mount tiles, and do you sell them?
Hold down clips are only required in extreme conditions. Any suspended ceiling tile may move if there is a rapid change in the
air pressure above and below it. In fact, grid mount ceiling tiles must move to some degree in order for the pressure in a
room to equalize. We have subjected all our grid mount tiles to room air pressure testing, and for normal installations most
designs do not require hold down clips. We do, however, sell hold down clips if you feel that you will need them for your
ceiling tile installation.

How do I clean your ceiling tiles?
Ceilume Signature Ceiling Tiles require no special cleaning agents – just wipe with a soft, damp rag. There is no risk of
water damage during cleaning and there is no need for scheduled professional cleaning and resurfacing to prevent environmental
and aesthetic problems. Small, stubborn spots can be handled with cleaners such as Fantastik® or Windex®.
Cleaners containing organic solvents or other aggressive ingredients should not be used because they may affect the surface
appearance of the tile. Examples of such cleaners are chlorine bleach, liquid grease remover, strong soaps and detergents
containing organic solvents, nail polish remover and furniture polish/cleaners.
