Profile refers to the way in which ceiling tile features project or recess away from the tile in relation to the ceiling (direct mount) or 1" t-bar suspended ceiling system (grid mount). Ceiling tiles can be projected profile (tile features project below the ceiling or grid), recessed profile (tile features are recessed up above the grid) or hybrid profile (some tile features project below the grid and some tile features are recessed above).
Projected Profile (Direct and Grid Mount)
Ranging from classical plaster relief patterns to ultra modern angular designs and covering almost every style in between, our projected profile ceiling tiles open up a whole world of decorating opportunities. These tiles have features that actually project down below your ceiling or the face of your 1" t-bar grid system, allowing you to add a degree of texture and topography to your ceiling that is simply not possible with conventional tiles.
For an understated look, you might select a tile that projects an inch or less, and for a more dramatic effect we have styles that project as much as three inches below your ceiling or t-bar grid. Or you can get truly creative and use projected profile tiles in combination with recessed or hybrid tiles (grid mount only) to fashion a ceiling that is truly unique. Our projected profile styles work equally well as both traditional ceiling tiles and translucent diffusers under lighting fixtures.
Recessed Profile (Grid Mount Only)
To provide a real sense of depth and texture to your ceiling, our recessed profile ceiling tiles have features that actually recess up into your 1" t-bar grid system. A wonderful choice if you're looking for a greater sense of openness and space than can be had with a traditional drop ceiling, our recessed profile tiles add a whole new dimension to your suspended ceiling.
Hybrid Mount (Grid Mount Only)
Our hybrid profile ceiling tiles have features that both recess up above the grid and project down below it, offering a dynamic relief effect that is unique to Ceilume Smart Ceiling Tiles.
