hi there, my roofer is extending my replacement roof over an expossed patio area, and I was wondering whether I could attach theise ceiling tiles to the OSB installed to cover the patio? How would that look? white tile

Asked by: Sue
Ceilume tiles are made from a durable vinyl material that is impervious to moisture but they have not been tested or rated for exteior installations. The concern is that the adhesive and vinyl tile could expand and contract at different rates as the outside temperatures change through the seasons, which could cause the tiles to fall down. We would not recommend using these ceiling tiles in an exterior installation.

Are this tiles actually copper? . Or finished with the copper look. .?

Asked by: Juan carlos
All Ceilume ceiling tiles are made from a thin rigid vinyl. The Fleur-de-lis gets its beautiful copper finish from a laminate that we apply to the vinyl right here in our facility in Northern California. You get the great look of copper but the light weight and ease of installation of vinyl. A Win-Win! Give Ceilume a call at 800-557-0654 with any other questions or to request a sample. We're here Monday - Friday from 7:00 - 4:30 PST.

Do you have matching crown molding to go with your tiles? If not, what are your recommendations?

Asked by: Ruth
Ceilume does not manufacture or sell crown molding. The good folks at Wish I Had That can help you out; here is a link to their crown molding selection: https://wishihadthat.com/crown-molding_all.aspx

Can these tiles be used as kitchen backsplash?

Asked by: Andie
The Fleur-de-lis can be used as a back splash but you will need to purchase Ceilume's Decorative Strips to cover the joints where the tiles butt together. Ceilume has recently introduced a line of Lap-Joint tiles that have been made specifically for glue-up installations like a backsplash. The Lafayette has a very similar design to the Fleur-de-lis with one important upgrade - the Lafayette has an overlapping pattern built into the edges of the tile so you do not need to use the decorative strips. You can view the Lafayette by copying/pasting this link into your browser: https://www.ceilume.com/tiles/Lafayette/Merlot/

Can these be installed over acoustic tile?

Asked by: Laurie
Like many construction questions, the answer to your question is "Sometimes". We do not recommend gluing any tile directly to an acoustic ceiling tile (typically concealed spine acoustic installations), there is a way to "reface" an old 2x2 mineral fiber tile by sliding the Fleur-de-lis in to a ceiling grid beneath the existing mineral fiber tile. This works best when used beneath an acoustic tile that sits flush in a ceiling grid. If the existing acoustic ceiling tile projects down below the grid, you will need to flip that old tile over so the tile sits flush in the grid before installing the Fleur-de-lis below it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! I love these tiles! I've had them for a bit but was just able to put the strips up today. I am really happy with the way it looks. Originally we were going to paint the track because it seemed easier, but couldn't get a match. I'm so glad, the strips make it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tin Ceiling for our Victorian House We live in a Victorian house built in 1893. The house has been added on to and the mechanicals for the bathroom are in the ceiling of our kitchen; hence the suspended ceiling. We thought we wanted a copper celling. When I spoke with Ryan from Ceilume, he suggested we try a couple of additional tiles and recommended the Tin Fleur-de-les tile. That was the Prefect Tile for us! We added the black grid covers and Voila! instant vintage ceiling! This was a two-person job to complete it in 6-8 hours. Very happy with the results. In the photos, it looks like a lot of pattern, in real life it is far more subtle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING!!! These tiles were seriously the best thing I ever did for our basement! We had the old crumbly ceiling tile before and they were stained not a pretty sight. I love that these tiles are waterproof and SO easy to install! I had to cut quite a few of them but a heavy duty scissors and a handheld rotary cutting blade did the trick. I got samples beforehand so I could envision the end result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy for me to install I installed these in the kitchen which had old acoustic tiles 8 years ago. It was time to finish the breezeway. I glued them on the existing acoustic tiles and it hides some water stains from when the roof leaked.
