I think you will enjoy the pictures with a few of our antiques in place rather than pictures of an empty room. We collect western and saloon antiques so we built a 12 foot by 30 foot saloon to display them. I am very pleased with the Medallion Ceiling Tiles and my husband had no trouble installing them. I was skeptical about putting up plastic ceiling tiles instead of the old fashioned tin tiles, but now that they are in place I cannot tell they are plastic. It was definitely worth the price. First of all, I called the Ceilume company one evening after hours and happened to get an owner of the company on the phone. Such luck. I wanted a tile in the color sand, that was, according to the website, available only in white. He was so helpful, answering all of my questions and actually guided me toward a tile that was more border-appropriate than the one I'd chosen. He sent some pics to me of rooms that featured the tile I wanted. Thanks to Ed Davis! As for the product, I can't say enough good things about the Ceilume tiles. I ordered both white and sand samples tiles. I didn't love the white. Packaging was excellent. Shipment reasonable because they're lightweight. My husband was initially a skeptic about the tiles, relenting only because I told him I could install them without his help. He deemed them "flimsy" tiles, but conceded that the project was a success after completion. Unless you're in-the-know you can't tell that they aren't heavy tiles. I painted my existing ceiling grid with paint mixed to match the tiles, applying with a sponge paintbrush, and then did the entire installation (very simple) by myself in just about 3 hours. (using pre-existing grid) Where the cut, notched portion of the Electra border tiles meet the wall, just above the ceiling grid, there were unfinished spaces . My son came up with a plan for those unfinished spaces. I cut small pieces out of border-tile scraps and laid them between the tile and the wall where the notches are, hiding the wall. It was easy and gives the uniform appearance I was looking for. Also, I loved the Medallion tiles but thought that they were too busy for a 13x13 room so I opted to use them as an accent instead. I even used, as a wall hanging, the Florentine tile that I'd ordered as a sample. I painted it, cut the edge off, and hung it using some braided leather. It looks like those expensive wall hangings that you'd see in a Ballard Designs catalog. Needless to say, I'm a satisfied Ceilume customer.

The installation of the Ceilume tiles was a breeze for the contractor - he had to install them using scaffolding, as our ceiling is 17' height - the light weight of the boxes and having 50 per box was perfect for him. All he did was pop the basic white tile into the Ceilume, placed thru the grid and within seconds it was in. We've been taking lots of interior pictures of the new dance studio (www.onpointedancestudio.com) but due to the ceiling height, the typical picture does not do justice to your product...However when new clients and our dance instructors walk into the studio they pretty much gasp at how great the ceiling looks. Attached is a shot we took a couple weeks ago getting the floor cleaned and doing molding work... you can get an idea of the room, but like I said no justice in the picture to your product.The detail of the floral design gets challenged by a lot of people (they think its the old fashion tin style) so we keep a sample nearby and they are amazed. We mention the product by name as well.

The grid went in pretty easily, and the Ceilume panels were a snap! Very easy to trim to fit. Also, we had some duct work that was just above the level of the grid, and the flexibility of the Ceilume panels was great, because I could bend the panels a little bit to squeeze them up into the grid without requiring any clearance at all. As soon as they were above the grid, they snapped back into shape, and you can't tell at all that the ducts are right above them. We still haven't decided whether we are going to leave the grid white, or paint it to match the latte panels.

I have been thrilled with the tiles. I can't say enough good things about them. As you can see from the pictures they have been installed in a 3 season room off the back of the house. Living in Wisconsin that room does take a beating from the weather. The problem I had with the old tiles was humidity, sagging tiles and no way to clean them. The ease of installation was unbelievable compared to standard tiles. They are light, easy to handle and just snap in place. Believe me if grandma can do it anyone can. Actually I am very proud of the ceiling I finished myself. This job went so good that I am considering redoing the basement laundry - work room. We hit a few snags here or there with some existing heavy objects (wiring, a/c ducts, etc.) sitting above the tiles so my contractor tied them up to the ceiling to support their weight. I must tell you at first I was quite skeptical about the product. Something about the weight and material was not appealing at first and I thought to myself "what did I get myself into"? However after installing the product in three areas of the basement, I can say that the product is the first area that people comment when they come into the room. They think the material is either carved wood or metal and expect the costs to be significantly higher than the standard store bought flat tiles. They are shocked by both the true costs and the actual materials and when they understand the ease of installation, the product sells itself. The home theater is a pleasure to sit in with the lights dimmed low and the tile provide a surprising amount of sound absorption. Great product and even better customer service!
