Here at Ceilume we strive continuously to create new green products and make current products more environmentally efficient. The following is just a small sample of our concept products currently in developement:
Corn Based Ceiling Tiles
Working with bio-based resin suppliers in the United States and abroad, Ceilume has created the first functioning ceiling tile
prototypes made entirely of corn based, bio-degradable plastic.
Keratin Based Ceiling Tiles
In conjunction with a USDA pilot program to create bio-based polymer from agriculture waste, Ceilume is in the early stages of
investigating the potential of plastic made from Keratin, a substance derived from chicken feathers.
Ethanol Based Ceiling Tiles
Using ethanol as a feed stock for vinyl is not a new concept, though until recently the economics have not been practical. Ceilume
is in discussion with Brazil’s largest resin manufacture, encouraging them to revisit this technology in light of
today’s economic and environmental climate.
High Performance Thermal Ceiling Tiles
Capitalizing on the complementary thermal characteristics of surface geometry and “captive’ air spaces that are unique
to Ceilume, we are experimenting with thermal “stacks” using our face panels, AcoustoTherm back panels, and custom
“intermediate” panels to greatly enhance up-flow and down-flow R-Values and thermal performance, while maintaining
100% recyclability and GreenGuard Indoor Air Quality Certification.
