Hi, Are Ceilume Madison White and Black tiles available in direct mount? Or a tile that is very similar to these? My ceiling height is low, and I cannot lose more height with suspended mount, hence I am limited to direct mount. Thanks

Asked by: Omer
The Madison coffered ceiling tile has a strong 3-dimensional profile and can only be installed in a ceiling grid. You can view all of Ceilume's glue-up ceiling tiles by clicking on the following link: https://www.ceilume.com/shop/glue-up-ceiling-tiles/

I have approx 740 square feet of celing space, and the room is divided into 2 areas with a half wall between them. I know that the Madison cant be used as border tiles, so which tile would I have to order and how would I know how many I would need?

Asked by: Dana
Any one of our Signature border tiles will work with the Madison tile http://www.ceilume.com/shop/border-ceiling-tiles/Standard1Grid/2x2/Signature/ but the most popular border tile for use with the Madison is the Oxford: http://www.ceilume.com/tiles/Oxford/White/ If your ceiling grid is already in place, you can count the number of perimeter pieces you'll need. If a piece is less than 12" wide, you can figure that you'll get 2 border pieces per 2x2 ceiling tile. You can also use our Ceiling Tile Calculator to figure out how many tiles you'll need. Since your room is divided, it will probably work best for you to treat it as 2 separate rooms and input the dimensions of each section separately. The following link will start with the Madison as your full tile and will ask you to select a border tile as you move through the process: http://www.ceilume.com/calculator/2x2/white/madison/

Does this style come in 2x4 tiles?

Asked by: John
The Madison is only available in the 2x2 size. Almost all ceiling grids have been made to be configured in a 2x4 or 2x2 layout. If your current grid is 2x4, you can purchase additional 2' T-s that snap into the existing slots to create a 2x2 grid (just make sure that the tab of the 2' T's fits in the slot of your existing grid). If that is not an option, you can view all of the 2x4 styles by clicking on the following link: http://www.ceilume.com/shop/ceiling-panels/Black/

Can I use can lights with these tiles?

Asked by: etb
Installing can lights above the Madison presents a special challenge because of its deeply recessed center. However, a Ceilume customer sent us a description of how he did it! "I have the ticket for success with the recessed can light fitting over the Madison tile; take the standard 1 1/2 tall t-bar pieces and cut them at just over 2'(26 – 28”), cross them at 90 degrees to the grid bars that make up the existing grid work; almost like building a log cabin. Since it is standard grid material, the can light fittings snap right on to them just like normal. To secure, I will just zip tie them to the existing grids. I did a prototype and the height is perfect for the Madison tile. It clears the tile completely by 1/4'' so sagging or pressing on the tile is a non-issue" Zip ties will work for a residential installation but you'll want to use a metal fasteners for any commercial work that will be subject to a Fire Marshall's inspection.

How much will these cost?

Well, that depends! Our ceiling tile prices are based on the total number of items (tiles and accessories) in your cart. The more you buy, the cheaper they get!
