Manufacturing Defects
Because of the thin nature of Ceilume ceiling tiles, and decorative strips, they may experience some minor warping and surface blemishes during the manufacturing and shipping process.
Minor Defects
A minor defect is a defect that is not visible to the naked eye when ALL of the following conditions apply:
- The ceiling tile, or strip is installed per manufacturer's instructions for its intended use.
- The ceiling tile, or strip is viewed from standard sight lines for a typical room.
- The ceiling tile, or strip is viewed in normal light for a typical room.
- The ceiling tile, or strip is viewed from a normal occupant vantage point for a typical room.
Disposition of Product with Minor Defects
Products with minor defects are judged to be in conformance with Ceilume quality standards, and will be shipped as good product. Customers who notice minor defects in the product prior to its installation will be given the minor defect definition, and instructed to evaluate the product under those conditions. Customers are expected to accept product that meets those criteria. If a customer believes the product does not meet the criteria, they are asked to provide photographic evidence and to return product once they receive an RMA#.
Major Defects
A major defect is a defect that IS visible to the naked eye when all of the following conditions apply:
- The ceiling tile, or strip is installed per manufacturer's instructions for its intended use.
- The ceiling tile, or strip is viewed from standard sight lines for a typical room.
- The ceiling tile, or strip is viewed in normal light for a typical room.
- The ceiling tile, or strip is viewed from a normal occupant vantage point for a typical room.
Disposition of Product with Major Defects
Product determined to have major defects at the time of manufacture will not be shipped. Product returned under an RMA# (see above) will be evaluated upon receipt, then rendered unsellable. Plastic from major defect tiles will be recycled for other, non-ceiling tile uses.
